No. You pay nothing till you officially select a creator and kickstart the project. Payment amount and terms are determined as per the proposal agreed upon between you and the creator.

You are only charged for the work you approve.
Yes. Go to Settings, find Account Details, and Deactivate. All your information will be lost upon deactivation. You may also choose to change your email preferences instead.
All the account, work, and payment information is 100% protected and stored securely on the platform so long as you choose.
IndieFolio is remote-first as a company and community. Your projects are also remote. In case of full-time in-office retainer roles, or video and photography shoots, it may be best to show up in person.

You can deactivate your account from your dashboard itself. In case you’re already busy, you have an option to mark yourself as busy and we won’t be able to send you briefs during that time.

A proposal is a document that creators on the platform send to potential clients when briefed. A good proposal helps gauge project and skill set alignment and sets the right expectations in terms of scope of work, milestones, delivery, compensation, and other terms.
You will be able to submit proposals on the jobs section of your dashboard.
Milestones in a project indicate key deliverables in an on-going project. They are usually fixed at the beginning of a project in the mutual interest of both talent and clients.
In case of any issue with an on-going project, there is an option to discontinue the project from your dashboard. The account manager will reach out to you to help you and discuss the further steps..
You can sign up on IndieFolio for free. We charge a 15% commission fee for each project you do on the platform.
The money you make on the platform depends on the nature of projects you do, your professional bandwidth, and the engagement models.
All payments are done on the platform through IndieFolio. The money will reach you in or less than 7 business days. .
Our flexible engagement model allows creators to earn as they like and clients to pay as they like. This includes: A fixed retainer in which payments are made at the end of every milestone or month. An hourly fee estimated based on the number of hours per week or month. And on-actuals where you charge per item of delivery. .
TDS
TDS or Tax deducted at source is applicable on all payouts.10% is the standard TDS that is deducted on all payouts Just to revise the same, TDS are payouts made by us, on your behalf, to the Government of India. These are your earnings only and can be claimed by you at the time of your annual tax filings. You can read more about TDS here or speak to your CA to understand more.
GST
GST is not mandatory for all freelancers but only if:
1.Turnover in a financial year is more than Rs. 20 lakhs. If you’re residing in Northeast India, the limit is Rs.10 lakhs.
2.If the payment you receive are for services under OIDAR (Online Information and Database Access and Retrieval). OIDAR includes projects, such as internet advertising, cloud-based services, and intangible items, such as e-books, entertainment (music, movies, online gaming), software, and any other electronic data, such as video lessons.
